We are Back....finally

Wow - I can not believe that we have not posted to the blog in literally a MONTH. Well, we have missed keeping up with all of you. We have been extraordinarily busy for summer, which should be laid back and all about spontaneous adventures.

So let's see.....since we went to Lava a month ago, we were busy building Mega Block cities, going to the park with friends, playing in the sand pile in the garden, going to a week of swim lessons, oh and going to Jerri's while mom worked.

Then, we got a call that grandpa Bryce was not doing so well. So, mom packed our bags and rearranged all our activities and we were off for South Dakota. We got there late on Tuesday the 29th, grandpa had passed that morning. On Wednesday we hustled to Rapid City to see Jess, J, and Wyatt. We got to have dinner with Dan and Kathy - yeah. Cousins Devon and Wyatt came with us to Custer to visit Tanya's other grandmother. We then headed back to Spearfish Thursday eve. Friday we went to grandpa's funeral and then to the heritage center that he helped start for a reception. It was beautiful that day and the service was perfect. We then stayed almost another week. We stayed with Mema and Papa and man is it green and pretty in the Hills this year. We played and played with Devon and Hannah, and got to spend a fair amount of time with all three of Jerri's granddaughters, Linay, Ashley, and Katlyn. We also got to know aunt LoLo - what a treat! We had to get on Granny Coo's schedule in order to have a special day with her at the fish hatchery. Aunt Tammy and Chad took us to Pactola one night too!

When all the South Dakota visiting came to an end we headed home through Gillette and Casper and visited with Monta Carr and with mom's friends Marie and Russet and their families. I especially liked Marie's new baby, she was FUN.

So, check out the photo albums to see the picture version of our July/August impromptu Rally adventure. I can honestly say that I really don't want to drive for 27 hours (round trip) with lots of cycler's on the road and no daddy in the car anytime soon.

Overall we had a great trip, and it really meant a lot to me to be there to say goodbye to Grandpa Bryce, he was an amazing man. It has been so hard to watch him suffer so these last few years, and although his loss is very sad, it is comforting to know that he is in heaven and not in pain any longer.
