I tried to go into my Picasa to pick out some pictures that might capture some of the time lapse on this site - but there really are not any to be found. We apparently were so busy that we forgot to photograph anything for about a month and a half!
We traveled a lot in August. We had a trip to South Dakota planned - Bryce and I drove my Granny Coo home from her visit and I did a continuing ed class in Spearfish. It was a great trip. A couple weeks later we had an unplanned visit to the Hills, our sweet Kathy (Todd's step-mom) finished her very courageous fight against cancer and we went home to say our goodbye's. It was a bitter-sweet trip. We loved our time with Dan, Jessi, Jason, Wyatt, and Uncle Scottie from Phoenix; but it is always hard when someone passes before it seems their time. Kathy is missed so much and will be in our hearts always.
Shortly after this trip, I went to WA state to work. It was so exciting and the people there are just awesome. I am trying to plan another trip - but the logistics of traveling this time of year are a little overwhelming.
When I got home from WA, my mom and dad were here helping Todd and Bryce with the last couple days of my absence. They all seemed to have had a ball in my absence. I put my mom to work helping my can 150 pounds of tomatoes. Bryce and I then piled in with my parents and headed to......you guessed it- South Dakota. Another unexpected trip; my biological dad and his brothers had to put all of my grandmothers possessions on the auction block to continue to keep her in her nursing facility. My step-dad saw the notice in the paper and let me know. SO - to auction I went. It was a really hard day, but I was so glad to be there. I got to walk through her house and revisit all the special childhood memories that the different rooms represent. We all got to reminisce over things as we saw items go up for sale. I had a mini bidding war with three women over the little wooden stool that held all the grand kid bath toys and lots of naked toddlers wrapped in towels over the years. Needless to say, it is in my bathroom now. I also was able, by the sheer grace of God, to procure her antique table for my sister and her secretary for me. No one in our family really wanted to see those two things go to strangers. My grandmother is not a material woman by any stretch - but those two pieces were her most prized material possessions.
Let's see.....besides all of this fun, Todd has been busy working on our Mayor's re-election campaign and working lots of late nights for different events around town. He is back to teaching class after the summer off, which I think he is happy about. He sometimes feels overloading with grading, but he really likes working with the students and watching them "get it".
Well I think my novelette is complete - so I will leave you with the few pictures I could find. Oh - and I am glad to be back!

Sounds like a busy, fun, tiring time. So glad you got some of those pieces of furniture. I know I was so happy to get some of my Nana's furniture when she had passed away. Hope you get to do the trip you want to do, and that everything else goes well for you. We will have to get together for dinner soon. :)
