I know for sure it is fall...I have tasted it. Todd and I canned on Saturday. We did pears, dilly beans, and juiced these adorable mini concord type grapes that I found at the coop. They will become grape jelly sometime before Christmas. I continued my adventures today. This morning I did a batch of carmel pear butter - and yes it tastes as good as it sounds. Warm and spicy, just like food you eat in the fall should be. Heidi came over this afternoon and we did two batches of tomato sauce. It smelled like heaven and we have decided that we don't ever want to buy tomato sauce again! As I write this blog, Todd is at the stove checking the progress of the chokecherries we are juicing. We picked about 5 gallons this weekend.
I have to see clients tomorrow so I won't be able to can anything else until Wednesday....but I have big plans. I won't give it away, I will let you all wonder what I am up to :-)

Mr. Katsu wanted to get involved in my new obsession and so he played with the jars as I loaded them this morning. He is a nut. (oh, and if you had not heard he is a boy - NOT a girl as we first thought.)
